Fundraising Tips

To date, the hundreds of individuals and companies taking part in Byte Night have raised over £2.5 million to fund Action for Children's life-changing work. This year we want you to join us and help raise over £700,000.

To help you raise sponsorship to participate in Byte Night, there is a dedicated team at Action for Children on hand to answer any questions you may have and provide fundraising ideas and inspiration.

Matched funding

Talk to your charities team or the appropriate purse-holder to find out whether your company offers £ for £ matched funding on the money you raise.

Workplace fundraising

In Byte Night's long history, we have witnessed all manner of fun and daring fundraising events in offices up and down the country. Here is our selection of some of the best:

Sleep your way to success: get some practise in beforehand and sleep out in the reception area of your office, asking those who pass to make a donation to Action for Children.

Auction off promises: Ask colleagues to come up with a promise to be auctioned over the company intranet. An example promise might be doing the coffee run every day for a week.

Beat the boss: Organise a pub quiz or sporting challenge giving colleagues an opportunity to beat the boss!

Play the Pyjama Game: Ask colleagues to wear their pyjamas to the office for a day and fine all those who fail to take part with a donation to Action for Children.

Do the Big Breakfast: Arm yourself with bacon and croissants and serve up breakfast in the office, charging your colleagues a donation to Action for Children to get their grub.

Rake it in with a raffle: Approach local shops and restaurants for prizes and run a raffle at a work party.
