I am involved in Byte Night because I want to make a difference — enabling and opening horizons to kids can be transformational. We are in a privileged position, with access to influential people and resources, which when harnessed, have impact.

I became involved with Byte Night five years ago.  Quite simply, NCH is a wonderful cause that does fabulous work with homeless and under-privileged young people. It is both incredibly satisfying and very humbling to be able to contribute to the outstanding work that NCH does. The small hardship we suffer for one night a year is nothing compared with what the young people with whom NCH works have to go through, but the event has a real and direct impact on NCH's work and that is clear motivation to continue to be involved.

I feel that in our industry we are amazingly fortunate and I wanted to help those people who have been unfortunate enough not to have the opportunities that I have.

I initially became involved in Byte Night because, as a service provider, my client presented the opportunity as a three-line whip! Then, after my first sleepout, I got the Byte Night bug. The event itself, the people involved and the contribution to combating youth homelessness makes it humbling, inspirational and an absolute must.

I came across Byte Night through working with an IT client; having seen how much can be raised for this very good cause by only a little personal discomfort, decided it was a good thing to do; each time I get involved, meet some of those it has helped and learn of the really great work that NCH do, my enthusiasm for the evening is turbo-charged!

I consider myself very fortunate to be involved in supporting Byte Night because I have a strong belief that what we do genuinely makes a difference. It is a rare opportunity to remove ourselves from our daily luxuries and get a small, if only brief, glimpse of the hardships that some of our brethren have to endure simply to survive.

Once you attend this event you will truly appreciate why so many of us have returned each year. As a father of two to know that there are individuals out there in the form of NCH giving up their time every day of every year to this cause is deeply reassuring. For us to give up one night to drive further awareness and raise funds is a very small ask for what delivers significant contributions and results in providing a more promising future for young people.
