Famous, Rich and Homeless

This week, the BBC broadcast Famous, Rich and Homeless, a documentary showing the experiences of five celebrities as they took to the London streets last winter.

Former tennis star Annabel Croft, comedian and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli, journalist Rosie Boycott, former Coronation Street actor Bruce Jones and the Marquis of Blandford all helped to put homelessness well and truly in the spotlight as they swapped their celebrity lifestyle for 10 days sleeping and living rough in sub zero temperatures.

Over the course of their ten days sleeping out, each of the celebrities was joined by a homeless “buddy” each of whom has a history of abuse, drink or drug problems. Each of their stories attest to just why Byte Night exists and how important it is that we do all we can to prevent vulnerable young people ending up on the streets.
