Latest figures announced for Byte Night 2009
A week on from Byte Night and we’re pleased to announce record breaking sums raised across the UK. The total now stands at over £440,000 and with promises and pledges still expected in the weeks to come, we look set to break through the half-million mark!
This amazing figure is thanks to the hard work of the 700 sleepers across the UK who pulled out all the stops to raise sponsorship. From penalty shoot outs to ceilidhs and speed networking there was no end to the inventive ways in which sleepers found to fundraise.
With the sleeping bags now packed away for another year, our thoughts turn to the young people who can’t return home after a cold night on the streets and to the work we need to do to ensure they are given the support and help they need to find and secure accommodation and access the services and support we all take for granted.
Over the next few months we look forward to sharing stories about the young people we have been able to help thanks to the support of all those who participated in Byte Night this year.
