At Coull, we’re all extremely proud to be taking part in Byte Night 2014. We’re particularly passionate about Byte Night because it means we’re able to make a difference to the people in our local community in Bristol.
This will be our first year sleeping out, so we wanted to come up with some fun, and challenging, fundraising activities. Here’s a taste of what we’ve been up to, and what we’ve still got coming up:
Aden Forshaw Charity Shop Fortnight: In July our esteemed CTO Aden Forshaw, a Coull fashionista if ever there was one, left his brogues, pastel shirts and tasteful chinos at home, instead dressing in a selection of charity shop outfits for the duration of the challenge. Prior to this, Aden hadn’t been seen in jeans and a t-shirt since mid-2005, so needless to say the appearance of ‘casual Aden’ generated some generous pledges towards Byte Night.
Summer Bake-off: Last Christmas members of the Coull team took part in a seasonal bake-off, tantalising the company taste buds with a selection of tasty baked treats. In July, we brought tasty back with our summer bake-off, with all proceeds going towards Byte Night. Previous bake-offs had created a fractious atmosphere at Coull HQ due to disagreements over rating methodologies. Suffice to say the issue reared its head again this year!
Three Peaks Challenge: In September, a Coull expeditionary team will be digging out their maps, compasses and supportive footwear to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. To complete the challenge, we need to conquer, and drive between, all three peaks in just in 24 hours.
Mario Kart Tournament: The prospect of being crowned Mario Kart Champion 2014 – a much sought-after title around these parts – has left Coull employees leaping for their wallets. With over 6,000 races in the Nintendo Wii statbank this promises to be a high-quality tournament that will be taken very, very seriously.
If you would like to donate to Byte Night and support our fundraising activities you can do so via our fundraising page.
We’ll be sharing photo and video updates of all the activities as they happen on our Facebook page. So like us if you want to stay up to date.
Thanks for your support and let the games begin!
